The Forbes House Museum seeks outgoing, friendly and flexible volunteers interested in training to become tour guides for the compelling new exhibition, Opium: The Business of Addiction, now open.

The exhibition tells the story of the Forbes family’s involvement in the 19th-century opium trade and the historical context of the current opioid epidemic and US-Sino relations. Training sessions will be held through in-person and Zoom meetings, depending on weather and COVID protocols, which will be strictly observed. 

The exhibition will run through February 2023. Tours will be offered by advance reservation on Wednesday evenings, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays each week. Volunteers should be available to lead tours a minimum of 1-2 days/week.
