The Forbes House Museum is located just south of Boston in Milton, MA. Architect Isaiah Rogers designed the Greek Revival Style mansion and carriage house in 1833. The Shingle Style barn, added some 40 years later, was designed by Peabody and Stearns. Phase I of a multi-year project to restore and repurpose the barn is currently underway.  There is also a Lincoln log cabin replica on the property. The collection reflects the family’s involvement in the early China Trade, as well as their multifaceted entrepreneurial and philanthropic pursuits.
