Come enjoy a stunning musical performance in the beautiful setting of the Forbes House Museum.
In 1847, Captain Robert Bennet Forbes left Boston harbor helming the USS Jamestown on a humanitarian mission: 800 tons of food and supplies collected from New England residents were destined for the people of Ireland, who were suffering from the great potato famine. This mission helped establish the United States as a leader in international aid.
To commemorate the 178th anniversary of his voyage, and the connection between the United States and Ireland, the Forbes House Museum will present a solo harp concert of Irish music on the exact date, March 28, Forbes departed for Ireland’s shores.
Light refreshments will be served following the performance.
Our performer, Regina Delaney, loves performing traditional Irish harp music, having studied Irish harp in Ireland and the United States. Twenty years ago, Regina founded The New England Irish Harp Orchestra, which she continues to direct. She has produced eight CDs, and has performed on tour in Ireland, Germany, and the United States. Regina teaches Irish harp in New Hampshire and Massachusetts to students of all ages.
